Samurai II: Vengeance is one of the best RPG weve found in Android

This Tegra HD version Samurai II: Vengeance is optimized for use on NVIDIA Tegra based Android devices only.

Although it has been a few years since its first release, MADFINGERs Games greatest success is still one of the best RPG you shall try in Android so far. Its strongest point lies on its simplicity: you embody a samurai whose purpose is to free the region from a clan of dishonest samurai who pillage and plunder the local population.

Thus, this is one of those alone-against-the-World RPG. Your success will depend on how fast your fingers are on attacking your enemies and how keen youre of learning new tricks and using new weapons.

There are three basic game modes. "Game" which is the campaign mode: choose a level and start progressing through levels. "Dojo" which is a sort of endless mode: youre alone into a ring waiting for unlimited mob of enemies so, the more you kill the better score you get. Finally, theres a "Chapter" mode in which youll have to do some "quest". However, theyre all locked and youll have to unlock them by progressing in the game mode.

Its 3D graphics are simply great. However, thats not a burden to run it smoothly: were just amazed of how fluent its despite the amount of effects. Theres a screenpad to control the samurai: a joystick on the left side and attack buttons on the right side. The pad is quite intuitive, and the screentouch response better than we expected.

Addictive from the first time you launch it. Great graphics, smoothly performance, game modes and difficulty levels. What else do you expect from a RPG?

If you like Minecrafts graphics but you are in a combative mood, drop the craft table for a while and come blow up dozens of zombies in Pixel Gun 3D by Rilisoft, a FPS set in pixelated blocky Minecraft-like world.

Pixel Gun 3D features 4 different game modes. First, "Campaign" which is the story mode where you have to fulfill quests, level after level through two different worlds. In "Survival" mode you are locked in a dojo you cannot escape from and zombies approach you by waves. The goal is, obviously, last as long as you can.

"Deathmatch" and "Cooperative" are both online multiplayer game modes. In both cases you join servers (FPS-like online servers) and play against other players (deathmatch) or with them to defeat the zombie plague (cooperative).

Some extra features like customizable character, achievements, rank and items complete the gaming experience.

EAs CCG beased on Dragon Age characters

OK, lets talk about Dragon Age. Dragon Age III was announced and previewed some weeks ago by Bioware staff. Dragon Age II was, well, what it were, and Dragon Age Origins is one of the favorite games ever of this me your humble reviewer.

Furthermore, EA thought it was a good idea to disembark Dragon Age franchise onto mobile shores with a collectible card game. Oops. Yes, youve read it right: we are not talking about a gritty moonlit dungeon crawler, or an adventure game with witty dialogues and charismatic characters either. Its a yet another card game. In fact, its a yet another high quality with brilliant graphics and animations and backed by a successful franchise, which is even sadder and proves our fear of an oncoming trend of making CCGs of everything. Should we thank EA its a CCG and not a "Dragon Age Run" or a "Dragon Crush Saga"?

Curiously, although design is outstanding, the 3D design doesnt make any favor to this game, which would have looked great in Dragon Ages comic style. One would think that, as characters are in 3D you would be able to customize them, which would be a great improvement to the genre, but you cant. Likewise, no matter how good it may be to look at, it can heavy and deeply disappoint Dragon Age fans.

Oriented to fans of the CCG looking for a high quality game. Fans of Dragon Age, come back home: the Blight of CCGing has reached these lands.

Team Awesome is a side-scrolling game full of speed and explosions

Team Awesome is indeed a 2D sidescroller, but as soon as you start it youll realize it has several strong points that make the difference. Not only characters are beautifully designed (pity that arent customizable, though) but it constantly plays with camera angles in order to make it all more dynamic and eye-catching, even when this game is controlled by taps and long taps.

In every stage you have to accomplished different missions and collect coins to buy new characters and upgrades. In your path, you can get Awesomium to fill your life bar, but the most important thing you have to bear on mind is that you can fly, so stages arent limited to the ground. Once you get it youll start to love this game and its 40 or so stages. We would have loved there were more characters beyond the four showcased, and some way to customize them.

Gameplay is still the same: feed the monster Om Nom with candies. Each candy is held by a rope. What you have to do is collecting the three stars and popping all the bubbles before releasing the candy to the monster. It wont be such easy. You have to use different mechanism, like gears or pulleys, to drive the rope with the candy toward the stars and then to Om Nom. As long as you progress through levels, the complexity increases and you need to be aware of more enemies and obstacles. It wont be as easy as it seems.

However, there are some new features, handicaps and items: rope guns, suction cups, rockets and water. There are new characters too. Whats more, the whole storyline has changed: since the game is about experiments, youll get advises and orders from a Professor that will influence the way you play.

Merida, the hero starring Dineys movie "Brave" dared to take the idol of Temple Run, the addictive 3D canabalt-like game. Thus, instead of the well-known explorer of the basic Temple Run, you embody Merida whos chased by evil werewolves, nipping at her heels.

Like a pure canabalt-like game, this is a endless running game. However, the environment changes when you collect enough coins to fill up the attitude bar. Although the scenery changes, gameplay is still the same: you have to avoid obstacles or gaps by jumping (swiping up) or sliding (swiping down) and tilt to collect coins. Coins collected are accumulated in your bankroll and you can use them to purchase power-ups and items that will help you out to get even further. In this version you can even buy new clothes for Merida. You can get more coins by paying with real money (in-app purchase).

This Brave-themed version of Temple Run adds a new feature: in order to score higher, you will have to hit targets with your bow. It should be said that this becomes quite a tough task to perform while trying to avoid obstacles.

Like in the basic version of Temple Run, theres a stats section from where you can see your bankroll, multiplier, highest score, longest run, coins-streak, total games and distance. Moreover, theres a "Objectives" section, where you can find a list of achievements to unlock.

3D Graphics seems to be enhanced in this version. There are no issues with screentouch response. However, accuracy will depend on your screen size.

Highway Rider is about riding a bike on a highway while trying to dont kill yourself, which is pretty curious because a)the more reckless you are the more points you score; and b) people has taken the bad habit of parking in the shoulder without even turning warning lights on. Hopefully, one of the best features of this game are ragdoll physics and that you get a medical report when games over.

However, in a game that gives so much importance to physics, cones seem made of reinforced concrete, there isnt a single turn and drivers change lanes at random. In fugitive mode -far more fun than arcade mode- it isnt clear who chases whom.

There can be that this game, thanks to its overall simpleness and straightforwardness, is like by you. Then, know that there are six unlockable characters -two of them from Beyond- and that games free with adds between replays. Dont forget to tap on the left of the screen to show you off and make things more spectacular.

A flawless defense game

One of the longest running genres on smartphones is, without a whisper of doubt, tower defense games. Defense Zone doesnt try to innovate or bring fresh air to the genre, but to make a flawlessly standard tower defense game instead, which positively achieves.

It comes with everything it should. Different and upgradeable towers, a smart time management gameplay (mainly, dont upgrade when a new wave is incoming), detailed and gorgeous graphics, three difficulty levels and assorted dumb enemies recklessly walking to their death.

Perhaps it isnt the best game to newcomers because it lacks a tutorial and nearly all info is treated as given, but will be absolutely enjoyed by tower defense fans.

This complete version allows to play the whole game. If you want to test it first, theres a lite version containing the first three levels.
